Michael Larrabee began playing at Canisius College in 2007, a four-year starter at tight-head prop, his career culminated at Canisius with a birth in the state finals. While at Canisius, he was the Social Chair on the Executive Board for his Junior and Senior seasons. After college, Michael continued his rugby career playing with the South Buffalo Rugby. While at South Buffalo, he continued playing tight-head prop and played a role in the club becoming a Western New York powerhouse. He would help lead South Buffalo to Empire GURFU Division III North Championship in 2012 and 2013.
After moving back to the Southern Tier, Michael would continue to play for South Buffalo for one more season before retiring. After meeting Coach Craig and Coach Scott, he brought his boots back out and returned to South Buffalo for the 2016-17 season. After one season back at South Buffalo, the trio decided to switch clubs and help the Binghamton Barbarians get on the maps for the 2017-18 campaign.
Larrabee holds a USA Rugby Level 200 Coaching Certification, along with certifications in First Aid/CPR/AED. Michael looks forward to continuing the efforts to bring the Rugby community in this region and help players continue their careers beyond the club.
Larrabee is a high school social studies teacher in the Elmira Heights School District and summer school teacher for GST BOCES.
