Tui Osborne
St. Bonaventure Head Coach / Rakavii – Behavior Drives Performance & Player Centered Coaching
Originally from Fiji, Osborne played for the USA Eagles men’s national team from 2006 to 2008. He left Life University in September, 2015 to move to Buffalo so he and his wife and young daughter could be closer to family.
Osborne coached at Life University from 2009-2015, winning men’s collegiate championships in both 15s (2014) and Sevens (2011).
David Butcher
Queen’s University (Kingston, ON) Head Coach – Scrum Technique
David Butcher enters his third season as the head coach of the Queen’s men’s rugby team in 2019.
Butcher has been involved in rugby for more than 20 years, first as a professional player and then as a coach and sports development professional working with provincial and national teams in both Canada and the United Kingdom. In addition to his current role with Rugby Ontario, Butcher is the technical resource coach, national A team assistant coach (forwards), national U20 coach (forwards), and national scrum development coach for Rugby Canada. Prior to that, he was the high performance coach for Scottish Rugby.
Laura Miller
Alderson Broaddus University Head Coach – Preparing Players for Varsity Rugby
A 2011 graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Miller comes to AB from Life University where she has served as the Assistant Coach since 2016. Miller has also served as Head Coach for the Southern Independent Rugby All-Conference teams.
During her playing days, Miller played for the U.S. Women’s National team from 2011 through 2016 and earned five international caps. In 2010 & 2011, Miller was a collegiate all-american and then was a champion twice in the Women’s Premier League for the Glendale Raptors.
Tara Roberts
American International College Head Coach – Research and Analysis in Rugby
Roberts comes to AIC after most recently coaching the Beantown Sevens during the summer of 2017. During the summer, Roberts’ team finished second in the NRU tournament and participated in the national tournament. Prior to Beantown, Roberts coached the Old Men’s Rugby Club in the fall of 2015. In 2014 and 2015, she coached the North Shore Women’s RFC and helped turn the program from last place in the league to beating the number-one seed in the spring playoffs.
Roberts also brings collegiate coaching experience to AIC. From 2013 to 2014, she was the coach for Wellesley College and took the team from a losing record to the number two team in the league. From 2006 through 2012, Roberts was the coach of the Portland Girls’ U-19 team. During her tenure, Roberts’ team made the national tournament in 2010. She also sent players to schools such as University of California-Berkley and Norwich.
In addition to coaching, Roberts continues to play competitively. She currently is a member of the Beantown Rugby Football Club. She has also spent time with the Northeast Academy 7s, NRU Select side, Boston Women’s RFC, Northshore Women’s RFC and Portland Women’s RFC.
